Once athletes register for classes, attendance becomes both a right and a responsibility. Sports club is an active partner with students and parents (for younger athletes) in the task of ensuring that all athletes meet or exceed the learning objectives and standards. Consistent attendance and athletes’ development success have a positive correlation.
It provides basic tool which can be utilized to target individual athletes encountering problems in their sport lives. For younger athletes, it reassures parents and the wider community. It enables athletes to take full advantage of the sports activities and learning, eliminates truancy.For club, allows identification of attendance patterns to make improvements, verify that the athlete complies with the required attendance and help for athlete’s development review.
For regular grading exams minimum %80-90 attendance required. It is directly linked with the achievement levels. (3, Sayokan)Attendance registration will show up to date information of the athletes. In any given session, provide information to know the whereabouts of every student for safety and other reasons. If there is a safety issue during the class (like fire etc.) and in case of evacuation, it helps to know that everybody is safe and well.
In the absence of young athletes if the parents are not contacted the coach, the coach will contact them to ask why they were absent It will help to increase development of advanced level athletes and further development of new coaches.

| Warm Up |

Warm up is done to prepare students for the actual training session. It is literally raising core body temperature 1-2 degrees Celsius (1.4 to 2.8 degrees Fahrenheit). It’s done in three stages of general warm-up, stretching and sport specific activity. Proper warming-up not only loosen stiff muscles, improves performance as well.It’s standard and essential in all training sessions (additions can be made if the instructor sees necessary) in every Sayokan clubs and takes around 30 minutes.
Sayokan warm up planned to improve Alp’s level of performance, develop physical strength and flexibility needed and build on it, accelerate the recovery process needed before training again, increase awareness, improve coordination, improve elasticity and contractibility of muscles, and a greater efficiency of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems. As a result, warm up and cool down is an essential part of both the training session and competition itself.Basic drills and techniques are added to the warm up and cool down in order to integrate well with the training session and cover the entire syllabus. In the warm-up intensity starts low and then gradually increases.
By the end of the warm-up, the exercises reach the target intensity planned for the beginning of the main part of the workout. Starting the warm-up at a high intensity is counterproductive and so is having drastic changes from a high to a low intensity of exercises.
Due to counter productive nature, active and isometric stretches are not part of the warm up. They are likely to cause stretched muscle to be too tired to perform the actual activity of the training session for which body is prepared.

| Grandmaster Kim's European seminars |

Modern times have seen the re-popularization of Haedong Kumdo due to the efforts of Grand Master Kim, which include numerous performances and the publication of Haedong Kumdo text books as well as the implementation of HAEDONG-SSANG-KUM-DO ? (Two Swords)
I would encourage everybody who can make it to attend these seminars. Grandmaster Kim is a very pleasant teacher of his art and down to earth, humble person with whom I had the pleasure to meet and train.
